Quit an App Manually

If you have an app that isn’t frozen, but appears to be running poorly, or you just want to start it up from a cold start, then you’ll need to manually quit it. Double-click the Home button to bring up the multitasking bar. Scroll along the bar (by swiping sideways) until you see the app that you want to quit, and then press-and-hold on it like you’re rearranging your apps on your Home screen. All of the apps in the multitasking bar will start to wiggle, and a − (minus sign) button will appear in the upper-left corner of each one. Just tap that button on the app you want to quit.
