The iPad 2 was the first iPad to include cameras—one front-facing for FaceTime videoconferencing and one rear-facing—and boy were they terrible. The hardware was clearly added just to take advantage of FaceTime and because Apple’s other iOS devices had cameras, not because Apple wanted to make the iPad a great photo-capture device.
