Smart appliances represent a large potential part of the Internet of Things. In the future, smart refrigerators might monitor food usage, and text or email you detailed shopping lists; smart ovens will know what you’re cooking and when you eat, and turn themselves on automatically; and smart laundry machines will run when you’re away from home and won’t hear the noise.
