Preface

My publisher once told me, cocking a hopeful eye at his author, that financially the most successful books of non-fiction were those about either sex or chocolate. For the curious the former is obliquely referred once in Section 1.1.1 while Chapter 9 is about making the latter. Sadly neither reference will satisfy the prurient or the gourmand as this is a book primarily about how, at the beginning of the twenty-first century, cocoa is traded and the main factors that drive and affect that business.
