About the Authors

Robert G. Eccles is a Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School. He joined the faculty in 1979 and received tenure in 1989. He left in 1993 to work in the private sector and rejoined the faculty in 2007. In addition to this current book, he has written three books on corporate reporting, including One Report: Integrated Reporting for a Sustainable Strategy (with Michael P. Krzus), which is the first book on this subject. One Report was the winner of the 2010 PROSE award in the category of Business, Finance, & Management. In addition, he has written over 25 articles and 20 teaching cases on integrated reporting and sustainability.

Eccles is now working on two new books. The first is Mobilizing the Global 1000 and is being done in collaboration with Professor George Serafeim of the Harvard Business School. The second is Materiality Matters and is being done in collaboration with Tim Youmans, a researcher at the Harvard Business School.

Eccles is a member of the International Integrated Reporting Council (http://www.integratedreporting.org/) and is the founding Chairman of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) (www.sasb.org).

Eccles received an S.B. in Mathematics and an S.B. in Humanities and Social Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1973. He received an A.M. in Sociology in 1975 and a Ph.D. in Sociology in 1979, both from Harvard University.
