Acknowledgments

A funny thing happened on the way to writing this book: I realized that I really like being an author. Not for the reasons one might imagine, though. For me, it is the process. From concept to writing, editing to publishing, this has been an incredibly rich experience. The original idea for The Intangibles of Leadership can be traced back to research I conducted years ago with Gordon Flett, who inspired me to think more deeply about personality and its impact on behavior. When I started to work more extensively with senior leaders, my concept of personality matured, and several brilliant colleagues helped shape how I think about the psychology of leadership.

My sincere thanks go to every RHR management psychologist and consultant ...
