Sometimes people get a career idea in their heads and then pursue the idea without understanding if it is right for them. Although a career counselor could put you through an assessment tool meant to tell you what areas would be best for you, a cheaper – and perhaps more effective – assessment can be made by asking your friends and colleagues the type of work they think you should be doing.
