Chapter 15. RTP

[RFC3550] defines the Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) as a protocol for end-to-end delivery for real-time data. It also contains end-to-end delivery services for real-time data: payload-type (codec) identification, sequence numbering, timestamping and delivery monitoring. RTP does not provide Quality of Service (QoS); it does, however provide QoS monitoring using the RTP Control Protocol (RTCP). RTCP also conveys information about media session participants.
