Implementing a Change

• A change that is implemented is expected to become part of the routine operation of the system. Therefore, supporting processes to maintain the change will usually need to be designed or redesigned. Supporting processes include feedback and measurement systems, job descriptions, procedures, new employee training, and so on.
• Because learning can occur anytime action is taken, implementation should be carried out as part of a cycle. However, assuming that testing has been effective, implementations are expected to result in no improvement.
• The increased permanence of a change that is a result of moving from testing to implementation is usually accompanied by increased awareness of and reaction to the change.
