The number of compiler-specific behaviors is too numerous to cover in a single chapter (or even a single book for that matter). Among other behaviors, compilers differ in the algorithms they employ to implement various high-level constructs and the manner in which they choose to optimize generated code. Because a compiler’s behavior is heavily influenced by the options supplied to the compiler during the build process, it is possible for one compiler to generate radically different binaries when fed the same source but different build options.
