The Earth Isn't Flat (But My Budget Is)

People in nearly every department at every company everywhere have heard some version of the mantra (or demand), “Do more with less.” This rings as true in internal communications, internal branding, and employee branding as it does everywhere else in the company.

It is even more true in 2011 than it has been in the past twenty-five years. Budgets are squeezed. Money is tight. Some companies are going out of business, while others thrive—and for lots of reasons.

Something that is far too often neglected or ignored altogether, other than our amazing employees, is the fact that many enjoy and employ social media (like Facebook and LinkedIn and microblogging like Twitter).
