CORRELATION AND SIMPLE REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Finding relationships between two variables
This chapter explores the influence of one random variable on the value of a second variable. Correlation measures the strength and direction of the relationship between variables. Once the correlation between variables is identified, simple regression analysis can be used to construct a linear equation that models the relationship. Given a value of one variable, you can approximate the value of the correlated variable using the regression line, assuming that the correlation is linear.
