High-impact middle managers need to be highly coachable. What does being coachable mean? Much of a middle manager's day is concerned with guiding others, coaching team members, and assisting peers. However, it is just as important that middle managers ensure that they are getting the coaching, input, and development they need to be successful and continue to grow in their position. Coachability, then, is the degree to which you are open to what your environment can offer, or the extent to which you will accept and consider input and ideas.
