Inspiration Behind the Chapters

All the chapters in this book are original publications. In writing the chapters, I built on several analyses of recent years which have already been published. In particular, I used material from my works on vision assessment, on policy advice in NEST fields, on ethical issues of nanotechnology, synthetic biology, robotics, climate engineering and human enhancement, as well as on the hermeneutic extension of technology assessment and RRI. In some cases, I used pieces of text from earlier publications in a shortened way, adapted and adjusted to the rationale of this volume. The chapters on the case studies include dedicated sections where conclusions with respect to the research questions and main messages of the book are presented. In the subsequent table, the biography of the chapters is made transparent.
