Not too long ago, I sat with Scott Kelby and Jeff Revell, taping the second episode of the new talk show, The Grid. One of the topics of conversation that came up was whether HDR, as a technique, was dead. Jeff made a really good analogy for how users think about HDR photography. He called it the “Cinnabon analogy.” Basically, when someone first runs into a Cinnabon, they can’t get enough of it—the sweet goodness! In no time flat, they’re having Cinnabon all the time. Then, all of a sudden, they realize that they’re really not into it, because they’ve overdone it.
