WHY CONDUCT ASSESSMENTS?

The coach needs to be acutely aware of why she wishes to conduct an assessment in the first place. What will she do with the new information? How can this information enable the client to gain insights that were not recognized prior to the assessment? (Rogers, 2004). Appropriate purposes include enhancing self-discovery and awareness on the part of the individual client, and improving performance, group process, or team functioning.
