IDENTIFYING LIFE PURPOSE: VIKTOR FRANKL

No one made a better case for asking and answering the question Who am I? than Viktor Frankl, a prisoner at Auschwitz during World War II. His moving book Man’s Search for Meaning (1959) describes how he survived by visualizing his life after the war, teaching and writing about his experiences. He concluded that the human species can endure almost anything as long as we believe we have a meaningful purpose, quoting Nietzsche: “He who has a why to live can bear with almost any how.” As a coach, you have access to innumerable ways in which to work with clients to answer the life purpose question.
