Part Four consists of four chapters dealing with work/life programs and several service-type plans. Chapter 16 reviews traditional time-off benefits and family leave programs that are the basis of all work/life programs. Chapter 17 focuses on two major forces behind most work/life programs: child care and elder care needs. This chapter explores the various approaches that have been developed as employee benefits to help meet the financial needs of employees for these special concerns.
