Chapter 15Color Balancing the Subject and Background

No matter how great the matte is that you get from your green screen shots, if the colors of the foreground subjects don’t blend well with the background, then it will look like you’ve shot those subjects in front of a giant flat-panel video wall. In other words, it just plain won’t look right. Of course, you want to try to nail the lighting and white balance on your camera before shooting; but often, as a compositor, those factors are out of your control.
