While we ponder the problem of how to feed our growing appetite for energy, we should not neglect one very important remedy – which is to use it more efficiently. Any energy that we can avoid using represents carbon dioxide we are not emitting and, frankly, that is the easiest, cheapest, and greenest form of energy there is.
