If we are addicted to the electricity that we devour at such a high carbon (and increasingly high financial) cost, we are no less hooked on our cars and our air travel. The transport sector consumes the lion’s share of our liquid fuels – for which read oil – and is responsible for about one third of all man-made carbon emissions.
