ChangeoversShifting equipment from performing one activity to another. In production, this means switching cutting tools, forming dies, and making other changes that typically require production to temporarily stop.

Cross-process metricsMeasurements that draw data from more than one formally defined process in order to relate activities to bottom-line creation of value.

Cycle time variationThe time it takes to complete the steps within a given activity or series of activities for one processing cycle. In a manufacturing environment, this generally refers to the time it takes to turn out one part, component, or product off the line.
