The glitterguru on Photoshop: From Concept to Cool was laid out and produced with the help of Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and QuarkXPress on a variety of systems, including a Macintosh G4. With the exception of pages that were printed out for proofreading, all files—text, images, and project files—were transferred via email or ftp and edited onscreen.

All body text was set in the font Sabon. Figure captions and notes were set in the font Tekton. The chapter headings on the opener pages were set in the font French Roast; chapter opener text and running footers were set in the font Spumoni.
