7. Map Updates

As previous chapters point out, the heart and soul of the nüvi is its maps database. OK, the points of interest (POIs) are nice too, but most people buy a GPS receiver for its ability to use maps to get them from here to there. That being said, maps change over time. Streets are added, removed, and rerouted; sometimes their names change. New subdivisions, neighborhoods, and developments crop up all over the place. Roads get reclassified, and their speed limits change.
