THE PROBLEM WITH SEATING

Venue seating capacity charts are often deceiving and at face value are not good measures of how many people an event space can actually hold comfortably. The reason is that capacity charts do not take into account the amount of space required for staging, audio and video equipment and controls, related storage, and projection distance. They instead list the maximum number of seats permitted as determined by the building code inspector when the venue was first constructed or during the most recent renovation.
