Where To Go for Help

So you've read this far into The FreeBSD 6.2 Crash Course, and you still have unanswered questions, or have experienced a problem that isn't covered here. Or perhaps your experience has been extremely positive and you want to continue learning about the FreeBSD operating system. No problem—there are plenty of informational options available to you.

Online Support Resources

Like all other free software operating system projects, FreeBSD has several official email lists. They are generally used by the programmers who work on FreeBSD and related projects, though, and aren't usually the best source of user-to-user support. Unless you plan to actually modify the FreeBSD source code, you're probably better off using the following resources.

The traditional first resource for people who need help configuring FreeBSD is the FreeBSD Handbook, which is conveniently offered in a free online format, or as a printed book. The official web address for the online edition (which is guaranteed to be more up-to-date than the print version) is:
