Making Three Flashes Look Like Thirty

If you were fabulously wealthy and owned 45 flashguns and matching flash triggers, as well as more than 15 lightstands, then a shot like this would be easy. You’d just set everything up as in the picture, surround the subject with lights and take a single photo with every flash set to the same setting— no problem.

Most people don’t have access to that kind of equipment, however, so some trickery is necessary in this strobe technique. What is involved is fastening three flashes to a single lightstand with elastic bands, complete with flash triggers.
