Everyone needs feedback: Average performers need to hear about what they’re doing well and how they can continue to develop; top performers need to have their work acknowledged and learn about additional challenges; and marginal performers need guidelines for improvement. In addition, every employee deserves the opportunity to discuss interests and aspirations so managers can consider how individual and organizational goals may coincide.
