Chapter 20. Team Building as an Ongoing Process

As I have been saying throughout the book, managers and team leaders need to make the time to build a team. They also need to recognize that it does take time to build a team. It can take many months to do so. I estimate that on the average it takes 10 to 15 months to take a team from the developing level to a high-performing one.

Team building does not mean solely focusing on the team members’ technical skills, which, obviously, are crucial for the team’s success.
