Chapter 13. Team-Spirit Key #2: Open and Honest Communication

The second key to developing team spirit is open, honest communication between you and the team members. I always tell teams and their managers/team leaders to remember the three C’s—constant, continual communication. The three C’s avoid many future problems and they keep the team focused on its goals. It is a very proactive method for addressing issues before they become serious problems.

We can break open and honest communication down into six components. If you and/or your team can demonstrate these six components on a daily basis, you know your team has mastered the second key to team spirit.
