Chapter 9:Negotiation Strategy When Haggling Give You Hives

When we lived in Prague, we spent two weeks in Hurghada, Egypt. Czechs, Germans, and Russians use Egypt for a break from the cold the way the Americans use Hawaii. In Egypt you haggle for everything—literally everything, from taxi rides to souvenirs. You even haggle somewhat with the guys who save tables at dinner and chaise lounges by the pool. I do not enjoy this process. I much prefer the U.S. method whereby the seller sets a price and we can pay or not pay as we decide. But when in Egypt, you must do as the Egyptians do.
