Introduction

Managers significantly influence the success of training. A study done at Pfizer illustrated the profound impact managers have on whether training produces results (Kontra, Trainor, & Wick, 2007). The study assessed the effectiveness of an important leadership development program by conducting a second 360-degree assessment of participants a few months after training. The results were revealing.
