  • During recovery, logistics is the most critical function on which the facility manager depends. Develop a dependable list of out-of-area vendors and contractors who can respond with labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Emergency plans must include internal intermediate logistical support for one week. Following a catastrophe, it may take several days for support from out-of-area providers to arrive.
  • Ensure the organization's human resources department has a policy for how leave and salaries are handled during an emergency. This is important if facility personnel are incapacitated and cannot report to work. It is also a morale issue.
