Creating Measures That Matter in Talent Management

Every year millions are spent on initiatives to improve leadership development, mentoring, onboarding, employee engagement, and performance management. Unfortunately, in many organizations, the benefits of these efforts are suspect, unknown, or nonexistent. This is, in large part, due to executive sponsors not knowing what they really want from these programs and neglecting to require follow-up reports about the benefits. In some cases, we find that leaders just don’t care about measurement. They believe that some investments in talent management are so fundamental they don’t need to be measured.
