Chapter 7:A Clearing in the Forest

J.C. had met with Ann Tabor, the too-nice marketing executive, and they’d hit it off immediately. And as Leo had promised, J.C. had instant affection for his new client. Their first two meetings had gone well, with deep discussions about Ann’s personality, her place in life, and her difficulty with saying “no” and confronting people, especially direct reports.

The next two weeks were both enlightening and challenging for Ann. She had to do her job — strategically leading her company’s marketing efforts. At the same time, she did the homework that J.C. had given her to help meet her challenges. She was keeping up by working for a few hours every weekend.
