Transforming Your Management Team Into a Leadership Team

The next and final section of the kit is an action plan that you and your management team can use to keep you on task and create some accountability for implementation.

But before we go there, we need to make a distinction between a management team and a leadership team. You may have noticed that up to now, we have used these terms somewhat interchangeably. However, they are not the same.

People in most organizations have some sort of periodic meeting with their managers. Unfortunately, these meetings are usually a combination of information dump and butt-kicking. That’s management. The word management is rooted in the Latin manus, which means “to handle.”
