Start Working with the Money You Have Now

Your money and your choices make up your life. You may not want to admit how much control money has, but the choices you make with your money determine what you accomplish. Money can give you freedom, or make you stuck. You have the power to change your future, and it all begins with your money. You want your money to work for you; you don’t want to work for your money. I know, because I learned the hard way.

In my early and mid-twenties, I was just doing the best I could. I wasn’t quite sure how my husband and I always felt broke when we made really good money. On top of that, I wasn’t happy at my job at all, because I wasn’t in control. I was a project manager for a company that installed computer equipment for cable companies, so if there was ever an issue with that equipment (day or night) I would be called. I would receive a call on Friday and find out that they needed me to fly out on Saturday to deal with a disgruntled customer.

I spent so much time and energy trying to make sure people never had issues with their cable. Ironic because I didn’t even watch TV! I was spending so much time and mental energy on something I didn’t even care about and longed for the freedom to do something I cared about. I wanted to matter.
