25. Face-Off: Don’t Discount Your Facial Expression

Do you know your standard facial expression?

This is my term for what people see when you are looking at them, listening to them, or just not talking. Many people have very stern facial expressions, and they don’t realize it.

One example of this was the engineer for a radio station where I was talking about standard facial expression. After the show, the engineer came up to me and said, “You know, lady, you may have something with this standard facial expression. My girlfriend keeps asking me if I am mad at her. I’m not. Maybe it’s my face.” And it was his face—or more precisely, his expression!
