17. Thank You Notes Do Matter

I am writting to thank you and to see how your shoe were.

I visited a specialty store to purchase a pair of shoes. My salesperson was very friendly and competent. However, my opinion of his professionalism changed when he sent me the above thank you note—unsigned and containing careless errors.

It’s not enough to be mindful of saying thanks for kindnesses extended to you. You should also write thank you notes when circumstances warrant it. But be careful what you write.
