59. DON’T GET CANCELLED

Imagine working for years developing a Broadway show—getting all the actors and actresses together, the production, the studio, the theater, the costumes, and the sets. It takes a lot of time—and funding. The ultimate goal is to keep the show going and not get cancelled. Broadway shows get cancelled all the time. You might see a billboard about a brand-new show in New York City and, the next thing you know, it’s gone. It just didn’t work out. This also happens all the time on TV. You see the pilot episode of a show, but then you decide not to watch the following episodes. You see the show pop up occasionally over the next year or two, never becoming a big hit, and then it disappears.
