49. PAY ATTENTION TO TIME

During your digital interview, time is on your side, but you must be sure to use your time wisely. It can never be replaced, purchased, or exchanged. It is finite. It is of limited supply, so you must maximize the time you have during each of your digital interviews.

In my research I’ve found that having a clock hanging on the wall behind the camera works well. This will allow you to monitor your time in a subtle way: you can quickly glance up and know how much time you have left and where you are in the interview. (Just make sure you choose a clock that doesn’t make any noise. You don’t want something that sounds like an egg timer distracting you during the interview.)
