46. TALK TO THEM, NOT AT THEM

It is sometimes difficult not to talk at a person, especially when you are speaking into a microphone and looking at the other person on a screen. You must remember that you are talking to a living, breathing person just like you on the other end. The key to talking to a person and not at a person is engaging the other person in what you are saying during your digital interview.

Don’t think of it as throwing words and ideas at the screen, hoping the interviewer will reach out and grab them.
