33. CLEAR SCREEN

You don’t want any unnecessary distractions during your digital job interviews, so a clear screen is the best screen to have. You are already under enough pressure to perform well; you don’t need a distraction in the form of a cluttered screen to take your attention off your performance.

You want to make sure any unnecessary software is turned off. That means you’re logged out of IM (Instant Messaging), e-mail, and so on. Your fans and friends can wait! Nothing should be popping up on your screen during your digital interviews. Even if you think you can ignore it, your eyes will naturally dart to whatever pops up on your screen, and your interviewer will notice.
