9. Doing and Checking the Iteration

In the preceding chapter we described how to plan an iteration using the kernel. At this point, the team has a set of tasks to perform to achieve the objectives of the iteration. These objectives and tasks form the team’s iteration backlog. Each day in the iteration the team will take tasks from the iteration backlog and work on them. Work proceeds in this way until the end of the iteration when the team reviews what has been accomplished and determines the new state of the endeavor. The Plan-Do-Check-Adapt cycle repeats for each iteration. This chapter looks at how the kernel helps in the “doing and checking” part of the cycle.
