Finding Inspiration

S ome entrepreneurs find inspiration in their strengths. Others find it in the mundane problems they encounter in their day jobs. And still others try everything to fix a problem until they finally discover that entrepreneurship is the only answer.

The problem that confronted Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin had long resisted policy makers, teachers, students, and parents. “Something is wrong with the universe when your likelihood of graduating from high school swings from 8 percent to 80 percent depending on your family’s income,” says Feinberg. He and Levin went on to cofound the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) charter schools, a network of no-fee public college preparatory schools.
