Definition of structure

Structure is the organisation we give to our lives or our time. Just as a glass holds liquids, our structure holds our way of life together.

The dictionary definition of structure is ‘something arranged in a definite pattern of organisation’.

To tailor that a bit, let’s refine the definition to ‘the organisation that we put in place to support us in our goals and commitments.’

We will usually have a default way of organising our lives (or not) that works to a certain extent. The power of structures really comes into play when you have lots of things you want to manage or some key goals you want to achieve.
