Exercise

  1. When you are tired, notice the experience of being tired. What are the sensations in your eyes, head and body? If you are not tired right now, repeat to yourself, ‘I feel so tired’. Do you see how you can make yourself tired just by suggesting it?
  2. Now, remember a time when you were excited and alert. What are the sensations in your eyes, brain, head and body? Practise telling yourself, ‘I am so wide awake and happy!’ Notice the sensations in your eyes, head and body.
  3. Practise alternating between being tired and awake just by thinking of it.

Once you have mastered this, you will be able to eliminate tiredness and extend the amount of time you can be effective way into the night or early morning. This technique will get you anywhere ...
