One of the paradoxes of the impostor syndrome is that the people who suffer from it tend to be ambitious and accomplished. We are driven to succeed, and yet when we achieve the success we are seeking, we inevitably find ourselves out of our element, which results in new fears of being discovered.

Know your fear. Success puts us in unfamiliar situations, and it is natural to feel anxious. To feel that you do not deserve to be where you are, however, is quite different. Learn to distinguish between the stress of moving up into new levels of responsibility and influence and the conditioned response of impostor fears.
