The most valuable advice I can give you regarding working with an attorney is that you should disclose anything that possibly relates to the case. Do not withhold embarrassing or damaging facts. I never cease to be amazed by the information withheld by the client’s personnel. Sometimes facts are withheld to support a person’s prior judgment; sometimes they are withheld to protect someone’s turf. Sooner or later, your attorney or the plaintiff’s attorney will ferret out all the facts and not only could you be embarrassed but you might have done irreparable harm to the case.
