Employer’s Legal Pad—Chapter Six Checklist

Knowing what happened is essential. Knowing why it happened is not, but it can strengthen your defense.

  • Establishing cause can be tricky. Dig down and ask probing questions to get to the heart of the matter and figure out why something occurred.
  • Investigate every aspect of a complaint. View the alleged incident from every side.
  • When you have any doubt whatsoever, do not take what you hear at face value.
